Marriage & Family: Enjoying the Journey

201 Biblical Foundations

Part 2 – Roles of Wives & Husbands

INSTRUCTIONS – How will this work?  What am I supposed to do?

1.     Contribute $15 per person for program costs.  Scholarships available (ask instructor).

2.     Join a group by completing a “response card” to give us information we can use to assign you to a Small Group.  Sit with your group when you come each week.

3.     Agree with your Small Group on the following “Ground Rules” for your group:

“Big Five” Ground Rules – Most Important To Foster Healthy Discussion

“Foundational Three” Ground Rules – You Can’t Build Without the Basics!

4.     Build relationships with those in your Small Group by doing your best to participate in at least one social and one service project with your Small Group outside of the normal Wednesday night group time over the course of the semester.

5.     Roles will be assigned within each Small Group for leading, facilitating, and coordinating the group’s activities (e.g.  Social and Service Project).  These roles will help the group best experience the practical side of “the journey” together. A small group coach (see below) will assist the group in assigning these roles.

6.     Future plans for the group continuing on after this semester will be discussed towards the end of the semester.  The group can continue for another semester on-campus or the group can decide to move off-campus and use a recording of the teaching to continue with the Marriage and Family material in a home setting.

7.     Coaching support will be assigned to each Small Group (a “small group coach”) to help the group weekly and to help the group identify an on-going leader.  The Coaching support team will offer a Leadership Development Program over the course of the semester to equip those who take on leadership roles in their group.
